Unfortunately, this establishment is 21 and up only due to video poker laws. However, if you wish to eat Woodie's seafood, you can order it on doordash.
Oysters here are HAND shucked and rinsed, if you get grit it's because they don't have an X-ray machine. They are $11 for a dozen raw, $12 for 8 fried, and $13 for char-grilled. The grilled platter is topped is crawfish boil reduction queso fresco and Parmesan before being vodka flame caramelized over lava rock.
It depends. If its the weekend they stay open quite late, and if the staff is here there will be food options available such as corn and crab bisque and jambalaya.
The new owners of MRB are really cool people. The courtyard is great and has a misting fan which is awesome for the Heat and sometimes they show movies or cartoons in their secondary back Courtyard. don't expect the fastest service you've ever had but the trade-off is a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere so it's totally worth it. Also, they have a ton of board games including a superhero Rock'em sock'em and a pool table as well as a ping pong table. Oh, and did I mention they are dog friendly?
Great, fun vibe where all kinds of people can enjoy. Felt safe and free to relax! Only complaint is the tour groups that kept coming through, but other than the yelling for the groups to continue, I loved to see the tourists! Food was surprisingly good too!
Exactly like the TV bar ‘CHEERS’ -but New Orleans style ⚜️!
Great food. Good service. The pool table is nice too.
Great local dive with plenty of sports and good bar food.
Absolutely love this place. I've visited New Orleans twice in the last 3 years from Chicago and this is the spot where my wife and I spent the most of our drinking and hanging out time. The staff is welcoming and my wife and her family loved the fresh oysters provided by Woodies in the back. We treat this place like it's our own private spot. Great times! Can't wait to get back.
Bartenders were very nice and helpful. Went out back to order food. You place an order and they send a text to your phone then it's ready and you come back to the window and pick it up. The women taking the order was extremely rude to the person in front of me. I went up to order and she basically said I'm not going to call you when your food is ready if you dont tip me. Got a full refund and walked out! Where I'm from you tip for GOOD service....not just for doing your job.
Terrible customer service got completely ignored the two times we tried going. Would not recommend!
My favorite bar in New Orleans by far! A bit off the beaten path from the French quarter but definitely worth the walk. Not only did this bar have some of the best seafood we had our whole time but it was also the most fairly priced. There beer list was just as impressive as there food, one of the largest stocks of craft beer of any of the bars.
Nice bar and patio with good food and Great service.
Cold drinks. Hot fire pit in the back. Great bartenders! The food is excellent as well. The new owners have really made this a great social gathering place. A "must visit"
Wonderful food and oysters. Awesome people.
We loved this place!! Ate at Woodys last night before our ghost tour best decision of the trip. The girl who took our order was SO sweet I wish I could remember her name but she had Darkish hair and mid 20s took great care of us this will definitely be a MUST stop every time we come!! Price and section of seafood is Great 👍🏻
The drinks are good. Services is wonderful they have a comedy club which is pretty funny
Drinks were great, food was great, kitchen just needs more organization. For the size, I feel it should be simple and develop a quick process. Other than the over 30min wait for some of our partie's food at times.
The owner was fantastic and absolutely love her doggy 😁
The gator balls and boudin balls were great. Awesome patio in the back!
"This is where cool tourists go." ~overheard in the secret patio from a regular. It is true - there may not be crazy tourists, live music, or beads, but this place is where you enjoy the culture with the locals. Comfortable lounge, great owners, and a secret lounge in the back (way back) with basketball connect four and a projector screening movies and sometimes nintendo 64! I have been to NOLA many times with various budgets, and this is for everyone.
During our 5 day stay in NOLA we came here twice it was a super chill area and the food was pretty good as well. We really liked how there was three different sections as well.
Best place for oysters. Very dog friendly. Love the vibe and reasonable prices. Also, I found a pearl in my oyster here!
Great dive bar... didn't try the food... will do next time though..
Love this place food is great. Best place for chargrilled oysters. Courtyard is cool as hell. Friendly staff. Now one of my hangouts I will always visit. Thanks guys
They hosted the pre-wedding celebration. Very friendly atmosphere!
Sat for an hour and a half waiting for 1/2 dozen oysters and finally told them just send us some chips and queso instead. There were only half a dozen people in the restaurant and when one of the other customers was complaining about not getting chargrilled oysters, the owner walked over and told the cook to reheat two dozen chargrilled that had been sitting on the bar for over an hour. The customer called them out and canceled their order. The manager and owner were clearly annoyed with the chargrilled cook but never jumped in to help.
Very disappointing! We came to this place looking for a good place to eat at and ended up super disappointed at everything. The food and the service were bad, and the food was way overpriced for what it really is. Oysters were good but you can’t mess that up.
Simple but quality bar food. We had oysters perfectly fried, crisp outside and not greasy while soft and creamy inside. Proper drinks and beers to suit all tastes. An outside garden in back is lovely but smoking is allowed. Our well behaved dog was welcome in the bar which is snug and cozy and staffed by cheerful people who appear to enjoy their jobs. Television is present but not obtrusive. A delightful alternative to the drinks of Bourbon Street
My favorite place in The Quarter!!!!The food! The drinks!! Omg! It’s amazing. Try a dark and stormy, the peanut butter whiskey, raw oysters, gater balls and giant uno!
Great dive bar good cocktails beer and bar foodie menu, watched Super Bowl 3 years in a row always stop as we cruise the Quarter
Mmmm everything is awesome! Try the crawfish boil too!
AMAZING!!! amazing food, service, drink offers...so happy we stumbled across this place. The outdoor seating, oysters and crawfish mac and cheese are absolute musts! So sad we are only visiting otherwise this would be a great spot for weekends!
I came here because it was a cool looking place with lots of TVs that would be chill enough to watch my Purdue Boilermakers play an NCAA tournament game in the late afternoon in peace. The venue did not disappoint; the game most definitely did. Thankfully, Abita strawberry lager and various liquors took the sting out of probably the most soul-crushing tournament loss I can remember. Some random hippie on Frenchman Street later typed me a special "poem" to sum up the evening: f@#% virginia!
You should really get the Crawfish Mac n cheese. Soooo very good
Burger was a little spicy but still a super fun place, excellent prices, super friendly staff and a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
Had such a fun time here! The bartenders are all great! Very friendly place!
My husband and I vacationed with our toddler. Many places do not allow anyone under 18 years of age. Because of this we would call ahead to make sure our kid would be allowed to come before making the journey over. The employee asked how old he was and we told him "19 months." He said that would be fine. When we go there one of the employees said we could not have a kid there as they previously got in trouble with the state troopers. When we told her we called (showing her) she replied that someone from the kitchen must of said that finishing with a sorry, cant allow it. It is beyond frustrating when you have your business together and the one who should doesn't. We ended up going to the French Market Restaurant a few businesses down. They were SO nice and accommodating and consistent with their answers.
I LOVED this place and already miss it. The oysters and gator ball things are amazing!! Never thought I'd ever say that about gator lol let alone ever try it. Friendly and attentive staff! Definitely will be going back while in town for Jazz Fest.
The beer was cold on a hot New Orleans night. The selection of beer was pretty sweet, too. The bar staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I can't remember the young lady's name, but she got me to try something a little different from my normal go-to. The atmosphere and music were on point. the courtyard was sweet!
Awesome people here. Food was really good. Had the Mr Burger and it was awesome. Good place to come at lunch have a few beers and grab some grub before going back out in the French quarter.
One of the most unique places to drink in the French quarter. Delicious and affordable food. Staff was incredibly friendly
Had a great time here! Even watched Game of Thrones Outside on the patio. Great selection of beers as well. Great spot.
Dog friendly, Chicago sports bar with an awesome staff and local beer.
Great place great ppl wonderful owners.
First time visiting this place because they had what has to be the first crawfish of the season. I’m very impressed! The crawfish was good, the drinks were strong, and they had some yummy seasonal specials. My friend has the grill cheese with tomato sauce and said it was good. We’ll be back!
This place other than any other bar in nola wasn't filthy or a dive...staff was great and drinks were awesome.. bathrooms were clean..
The most overrated place in the city. The food is crazy expensive. They give you 6 shrimps with barbecue sauce for 15 dollars. 🤦🤦The shrimps are not good even. The food is bad.Edit: Thanks for letting us know. I will definitely try again.
Great local bar with live music off Bourbon Street.
Amazing friendly service. Everyone here was super nice and helpful . Great drinks and atmosphere. A must stop in.
Everything about this place is spectacular. The bar has a great beer selection. The seating is nice. Bar is clean. Outside courtyard is beautiful. The kitchen in the courtyard has food that is absolutely amazing. We had crawfish mac and cheese, lemon pepper wings and char grilled oysters. The mac and cheese was epic. The wings were perfect. Crispy on the outside, juicy meaty wings. If you want the best char grilled oysters ever, look no further. My only regret is I ordered half a dozen instead of 2 dozen. They were PERFECT.
Great Bar, Great Food. Try the seafood hamburger, I've never tasted one like it. Deep fried bread. All the food was delicious.
Love this place and they have Justin Wilson seasonings. Game changer!
